Andes Mountains and Piedmont

The Andes Mountains and Piedmont are a large mountainous region on the border of Argentina and Chile. The Andes Mountains are a series of high plateaus that have even higher peaks that stretch over a distance of 5500 miles. The Andes mountains separate Chile from Argentina and the rest of the continent. The Andes are not a line of peaks but instead a group of large parallel mountain ranges. There are obvious east and west mountain ranges, the cordillera oriental, and the cordillera occidental. As the Andes move south from Patagonia the population increases a lot.The Andes Mountains make the region mostly inhospitable. The part of this region that is hospitable is the large mountain valleys that are called quebradas. The Andes include the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere, Cerro Anagua’s peak is 22, 384 feet which is 6959 meters on the border of Argentina and Chile. The Andes Mountains is a large group of mountains that goes through South America that separates countries like Chile from Argentina and the rest of the continent.
